Assessments

Participation in statewide and district assessments is a way to see academic progress in our kids with disabilities.

NOTE: The 26-27 school year will be the last year for STAAR administration.

Beginning in the 27-28 school year, school districts will use a beginning of the year (BOY), middle of year (MOY), and end of year (EOY) assessment. A list of approved assessment tools will be available in August 2027. In addition, The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) will be used for Mathematics (Grades 4, 8, 12), Reading/Language Arts (Grades 4, 8, 12) and for Science (Grade 8). End of Year assessments for high school will be for English I, Algebra I, Biology, and US History.
